Standing barbell curl

The standing barbell curl is an excellent exercise for developing massive arms. It focuses on muscles necessary to flex your forearms, such as the M. brachialis and the biceps. Performing the standing barbell curl seems simple since you need to bend your arms. However, this exercise could somehow be challenging for your core as well.   • Stand with feet hip to shoulder-width apart
  • Grasp the barbell with a supinated grip; hands are shoulder-width apart
  • Upper arms are on the sides of the body
  • Arms are straight to use the full range of motion, eventually

  • Bend your arms in a controlled fashion until the barbell is approx. at shoulder height
  • Your upper arms remain on the sides of the body
